Nameenduracididine biosynthesis
DescriptionProteins MppR (homologous to acetoacetate decarboxylases), and MppP and MppQ (both pyridoxal phosphate enzymes related to aminotransferases) are responsible for the biosynthesis of enduracididine, a rare non-proteinogenic amino acid incorporated by some non-ribosomal peptide synthases (NRPS).
