NameO10(Ec) antigen biosynthesis
TypeMETAPATH
DescriptionThe E. coli O10 antigen is a branched pentasaccharide with the structure [->3)aLRha{(2<-1)aDFuc4NAcyl}(1->3)aLRha(1->3)aDGal(1->3)bDGlcNAc(1->], where the acyl group is heterogeneous and composed of 60% acetyl and 40% D-3-hydroxybutyryl. The composition of the O10(Ec) cluster has not been previously reported and was sequenced at JCVI as project ostec03.
JCVI RoleBiosynthesis and degradation of surface polysaccharides and lipopolysaccharides
