Name | sulfite reductase complex, Salmonella/Clostridium type |
Type | PATHWAY |
Description | Several different types of enzyme complex are designated sulfite reductase, and each may resemble some enzyme with differing specificity more closely than they resemble each other. This property represents a bacterial three subunit type as found in several species of Clostridium and in Salmonella. In Salmonella, it is described as a siroheme-containing sulfite reductase, reversibly inhibited by oxygen, that can produce H2S from sulfite under anaerobic conditions when provided with a fermentable sugar. |
Parent Property | GenProp0196: sulfur metabolism
